River stormed out of the apartment, her purse swinging off her shoulder. Simon has just decided to enforce a cerfew! A fucking cerfew! She was 12! She was 18 for crying out loud.
Simon was beginning to get on her nerves with the whole over protective brother thing. It was fine when she was 5. Maybe even when she was 15. But not now that she was an adult. She could fend for herself, better than him even. She was a shapeshifter and had been able to take care of herself for over 5 years now.
Angry, River stormed into the local restruant and waited near the front for a table.

Charlie stared out her window, her eyes burning from lack of sleep. She missed home, she missed her mom and she missed Mark. That wouldn't make a difference now would it? Not anymore, not with that she believed she became. However, Crocker Turn saved her from facing the world of judgment in which she knew she lived. The town of Crocker had become her home now. Knowing it would be a pretty decent idea for her to get OUT of the house, Charlie put on her coat and locked the door after exiting the house, heading on foot to town. She had an old motorcycle in a small shack on the side of her house, but she liked walking better for fear she might blow herself up by accident.
The walk more into town was calming, her fingers flicking her zippo lighter in her pocket as her stomach growled a bit. Should have eaten... she thought to herself. The gravel beneath her feet crunched together, eyes gazing around until they landed on the Restaurant. She headed over, crossing the street and walking up to the door in which she opened it. Charlie didn;t wait with the girl, instead she walked in and sat at the small bar, resting her head against the counter.

River was started to get annoyed that no one had come over to seat her yet. It didn't help her being mad already. She saw a girl walk past her and sit down at the bar. She debated for a second about doing the same. It seemed like it would be the only was she was going to get to eat anytime soon. Plus Simon would probably flip shit if he found out she had one: sat at a bar at 18, and two: started a conversation with someone she didn't know.
Similing at the thought, she made her way over to the bar. She took a seat next to the other girl and ordered a soda, asking for a menu. She glance at the other girl and could tell something was bothering her. Being the caring person she was, she couldn't help but ask, "You ok?"

Charlie lifted her head a bit to see who was talking to her and saw it was the same voice who had just ordered and also the same girl she had passed on the way in. Was she okay? Well, she was tired, and a bit flustered from locking herself in her house for so many lengthy periods at a time, but she wasn't dying here. Charlie sat up now, leaning her arms on the counter. "I'm fine."

River eyed her, carefully. Something was upsetting the girl, but she didn't know her well enough to push it. Instead she offered her the menu that had just been set infront of her.
"Hungry?" she asked. "Do you mind company for dinner?"

Charlie almost said no, but her stomach cheated her too it before she could lie. Her stomach growling. With a small sigh, Charlie looked at the menu and decided on a salad. "I guess I don;t mind. I'm...Charlie."

River smiled and ordered a burger. She was in the mood for some greasy meat covered in cheese and ketchup. It was usually what she was in the mood for after a fight with her brother. "I'm River. Nice to meet you."

Charlie nodded, trying to force a smile. "You too." Charlie would have asked right then if River had a power, or something, or even if she was just normal. However she couldn't tell if she really wanted to know or not. But what could it really hurt, right? Suddenly Charlie's memories of her 18th birthday flashed back into her mind and she had to close her eyes with a sigh.

River noticed Charlie's sigh, but she didn't ask. She figured if the girl wanted to talk about it she would. "So what brings you to Crocker?" she asked, drumming her fingers on the bar. She felt like she was trying to hard to make conversation, but she didn't want to just leave the girl. She looked too upset or stressed or whatever was wrong.

"I've lived here for a while..." Charlie said, not really wanting to share emotional bonding time but she figured if she didn't attempt making friends again in her lifetime then she'd never have any again. Personally, Charlie Tanner was NOT, a 100 cats in a house type person. "I moved here a while back...I got on the wrong plane, it took me to Maine, I got down into a town and someone had mentioned Crocker turn...and the stories and If that meant the world of judgement wouldn;t wander themselves into the 'haunted' forests then I was making my way there and never coming back out....I havn't been out of this town since." She said.

River stared at her in shock. "You've been outside of Crocker? And you chose to live here? I can't imagine it. I am stuck here. My brother won't let me leave. I've never been past the woods. I'm not supposed to go in there, though. He is like paranoid or something. I do it anyway though." River stopped, realizing she was talking alot. "Sorry. Why did you want to come here?" she asked, waiting for the answer this time.

Charlie couldn't imagine going back out there now, not when she knew how rumors spread. She's be considered a freak and probably be locked up if someone knew about her, or anyone else in Crocker. She's rather live here. "I grew up in Syracuse New York...with my parents...about four years ago my dad went missing, two years later I was sent to my Uncles because my mom felt like I needed to be living with someone who would pay more attention to me because she was a workaholic, she spent so much time in her job...I turned 18 and nearly burned my uncles house down after waking up from a nightmare I was having...I fled, and got on the wrong plan. I wanted home...I wanted somewhere I felt safe and away from anyone I could hurt...I was only passing through when I heard people talking of the rumors and haunted tails of Crocker Turn...people who live in that fear usually don't have the guts to go, so I thought this the best place to go, just roam through the forest until I was lost to never find my way back to that world...and here I am...I don't know If I could ever go back..but not a day goes by I don;t miss my family..."

River sat in silence listening to Charlie's story. It was a sad one. She felt bad for the girl. It was hard losing you're family. She would know. "Are you... chosen?" she asked when Charlie stopped talking. She didn't mean to be so blunt about it, but it had just come out.

Charlie turned her eyes to River with a small sarcastic laugh. "What's that?" Chosen, she was ALONE. That's how she felt, completely alone and she had no one to blame but herself for abandoning her family and her life.

"Like a chosen witch. You said you almost burned down you're uncle's house. Did you use a power?" she asked. She felt a bit like she was intruding, but she was curious.
