Clara shrugged, putting her hands in her pockets. "I had some money when I left. I try only to spend money on food and clothes when I need it. I do odd jobs now and then when I need money." She bit her lip as she tried not to think of some of the not-so-nice jobs she'd had.

She could sense the girl's unease rising. Not exactly the way she intended to start in this new area. Motioning for her to follow, Rhi started walking again. "So, tell me about this town. Are the rumors true?"

Clara walked along with Rhi. She turned her head slightly and gave her a sightly quizzical look. "What do you mean?" she asked her.

Inside, Rhi berated herself. She knew better than to ask questions like that. But for some reason, she was actually hopeful that this place would be somewhere she could find some peace. "Just...forget I asked. I didn't mean to be nosy."

Clara frowned. She didn't understand what Rhi was trying to figure out. Dimly she wondered if she was referring to people with abilities... "No, no," she replied. "It's fine. I just don't understand what you mean." She was hoping maybe Rhiannon would give her a clearer answer.

"That's okay. I get it a lot. I'm not a real good one with conversations. I always seem to say the wrong thing." Rhi continued walking, not really paying attention to her direction.
((OOC - my turn to apologize for my absence.))

Clara smiled softly as she walked along with Rhiannon."That's alright," she said. "You didn't say anything wrong." She bit her lip before adding, "So what did you mean?"
OOC: its all good! <3

Because of all her years on the road, Rhi's communication skills, when she wasn't playing her guitar, were severely lacking. But sometimes, she hoped to find a person or two who'd take their time to get to know her. And this girl who found her in the middle of a forest seemed to maybe want to. "I just...heard rumors about the people who live in Crocker Turn. How they're...different." OOC: Thanks!

Clara bit her lip and glanced sideways at Rhiannon. She didn't really know anything about the town being different, but she felt like it was. She couldn't put her finger on it, but ever since she had arrived here she had felt less... on the outside. Even if she really hadn't met any one yet. Could that be because the people here really were different, like Rhi said? That maybe they were more... like her? "I-I'm not sure," she finally replied. "But I get a feeling that they might be..."

"Oh, so you haven't been here that long, then? Have you met anyone from town?" If she hadn't, that would explain the earlier confusion. And it would mean Rhi was still in the same state she had been before.

Clara nodded. "Just a few days," she said. "I met one girl, sort of. She was oddly kind to me... but I sort of bolted cause I got freaked out. It had been my first night here," she added.

"Why do you say oddly kind? Did she say or do something to make you feel out of place or somehow being used?"

"No," said Clara slowly. "She was just very nice to me. I-I guess I'm just not really used to that. So for me, it was odd.'

"Yeah, I can understand that." And she could. Years on the road, and Rhiannon was still wary of most people.

Clara nodded and stuffed her hands in her pockets once more, unsure of what to say. She had always been a little awkward around people.
