With her guitar slung over her back and her old army messenger bag, the only purchase she made the day she left home, slung over her shoulder, Rhi took off down the road to Crocker Turn, giving a fond look back at the coffee shop that had saved her. In the windows, she could see the look of the concerned patrons, her boss - now former boss - grabbing her blouse in angst.
No matter how hard she had tried to convince them otherwise, the people she was leaving behind had their fears so well grounded into them that nothing she could say or do could alleviate them.
Pushing her own doubts aside, she continued on towards an unknown destination. If the rumors were true, she hoped to find some people, at least one person, who was like her, or who was different in their own way. Rhiannon had been born full of life, full of the need to explore and yet still be among people, to have a home. Having been on the road for so long, wandering, she had had enough of exploration and wanted a bit of a home life now. But if the rumors were false, it was another town to explore, before moving on.
Walking along an old road, she looked around at the scenery she was passing by. She'd always wished she could draw or paint, but that talent had skipped her. And since a camera was the furthest possible as a purchase, Rhi had to content herself with memorizing all she saw, committing them to memory, to someday preserve the essence of what she saw and heard in music.
The farther she traveled, the quieter the forest became. The sounds that should have been natural in such a setting dying out. Keeping her eyes alert and her body readied, she pushed on.

Clara wandered through the streets of Crocker Turn. She'd been sleeping in an old abandoned barn down the way for the past few days, but decided to get up and walk around a bit. The town seemed... nice enough. Far better than when she had lived at home with her father, even if she was living in a barn. That was alright with her though, for the past two years she had been wandering all up and down the East coast and to be honest, this barn was one of the nicest places she'd sayed in. Usually it was just a bench in a park or an alley of some sort.
She walked down the streets slowly, taking in her surroundings. It was s crisp day, but the air felt good in her lungs as she walked on the outskirts of town.

The soft crunch of leaves alerted Rhi that she was no longer alone. She stopped to take stock of her surroundings. Having spent so many years on the road, most often alone, she could usually tell the difference between animal and human. Animals were generally much softer. These footsteps, however, were a strange mix of the two; definitely human-life, but soft. Rhi's own footsteps were muted, training from one of her many odd encounters. She was neither worried or afraid. Of all things, she knew she could protect herself.
Continuing on, Rhiannon knew whatever was tracking near her would make her presence known if they or it wanted.

As Clara continued to walk a scent entered her nostrils and she looked around slowly, attempting to discern where it was coming from. One of the effects of discovering her ability was that she had a heightened sense of smell, sight, and hearing when in human form; it wasn't quite as strong as a wolf's, but was definitely stronger than a human's. Sniffing the air slightly, Clara realized that there was a girl near by, walking around. She bit her lip, trying to decide what to do. Should she turn and go back to the barn? Approach her? Or just continue wandering and see if their paths met? She decided on the later course of action and continued to amble down the street. As she rounded a corner she saw a dark haired girl walking in her direction, just up the road. She was carrying a guitar and not much else. She must be a runaway like me.. Clara thought as she continued to walk.

When the girl rounded the corner, Rhiannon stopped in her tracks. Though she wasn't scared, she didn't want to provoke a confrontation that would force her to use her powers. She preferred to stay under the radar until she knew whether or not the rumors of Crocker Turn were true. So, she eyed the other suspiciously, unsure.

Clara hesitated slightly when she noticed the other girl freeze in her tracks. She was obviously suspicious. She let out a soft sigh and continued down the road in the direction she'd bee walking in. She gave the girl a small, soft smile as she neared her.

Though still wary of the stranger, Rhi continued walking towards her, giving her an answering smile.

As she neared the girl she mumbled a soft, "Hello."

When the young one approaching her said hello, Rhiannon returned the greeting, "Hello" as they passed each other.

For some reason that Clara didn't really understand... she felt the need to talk to this girl. Like for some reason they had more in common than just being runaways. "A-are you a runaway too?" she asked her softly, motioning to the girl's bag.
OOC: I am so so sorry it took me so long to answer!

As she past, she heard the hesitation in the other's voice. Stopping, she turned and faced her. "Hello," she repeated. "No, I'm not a runaway. I'm more of a...a wanderer. But you seem to be." It was time for her to learn how to trust, and she could sense no malice in the other girl. Holding out her hand, she said, "I'm Rhiannon, but you can call me Rhi." ((OOC - LOL, its ok. I mostly just wondered what was going on. Not to worry. Hehe.))

Clara hesitantly reached her hand out and shook Rhiannon's. "I'm Clara," she said. She chuckled slightly. "And yes, I am. I've been up and down the coast for a while. Now I'm staying in an old abandoned barn just up the road there," she motioned.\
OOC: Yeah I really am sorry! Things have been a little crazy with going back to school!

When the girl...Clara, she clarified...touched her hand, Rhi got the feeling of friendship of the girl. There was no evil there, nothing to signify Clara meant Rhi harm. Relaxing a bit, Rhi dropped her hand, listening.
"A barn? Is there no place to stay in town?" Though the questions about Crocker Turn were burning in her brain, Rhi tempered down her curiosity. There would be time for that without frightening her. "I have been wandering for the last...ten years or so. How long have you been here?"

Clara shrugged her shoulders. "There are places to stay in town, but none that I can afford," she replied honestly. "I've been traveling for the past two years, since I was sixteen. I couldn't take living in my father's house any more so one day I just picked up and... left."

Shifting her guitar onto a more steady part of her shoulder, Rhi asked, "So how do you survive? What do you do?" She hoped she didn't sound like too much of a pest, though she was burning with curiosity.
