Born Rhiannon (Rhee-ann-non) O'Hara to a prominent Irish family in Boston, Massachusetts, Rhi was the fifth in a family of 9 children and the eldest girl. With five brothers and three sisters, she learned early on that she was different from the rest of her family. When she was a babe, Rhi discovered that if she wanted a toy, all she had to do was think of it and the toy would appear in her crib. Soon it became a game to the young child, she would try to see what she could make "appear" in her crib. Sometimes, it was a glass from the cupboard. Othertimes, it would be a book one of her siblings was reading.
As she grew older, Rhi's powers also grew. And as her powers grew, they stood to highlight the differences between her and her family. Surrounded by light haired, brown eyed people, Rhi wondered at her own midnight hair and ocean blue eyes. The visual differences cast her as an outsider, but her powers cast her as something to be feared. They could not understand the gift and grew to hate the changes in their dark haired child. Behind her back, the began to make the sign of the devil, calling her a changeling as a child and a witch as she grew up.
Seeking solace and a way to find peace, Rhi discovered another hidden gift: music. With a guitar in her hand, she would create a cocoon of peace, a place where she belonged. However, even in that gift, her family could find nothing good. Without her knowledge, Rhi could calm a room, cause angst in the people around her, create joy in the downtrodden or heartache in happy.
The end of what she called her "first life," with her family, came on her eighteenth birthday. With the gift of a suitcase and $200, her parents told her to leave their house, that they would not have a daughter of Satan sharing their roof. Their fear of the unknown had finally overcome the love for their eldest daughter.
Her blue eyes a reflection of her endless pain, Rhi had strapped her guitar over her back and picked up her suitcase. With one final look at the house that was never a home, she turned about began her "second life."
Traveling all over America and several countries, including a few in Europe, Rhi dropped her name, being only known as Rhiannon. For over a decade, she made her way by performing in underground clubs and folk music festivals, making just enough to survive. Her life was lonely, heartbreaking. Through each town and down every road, she hoped to find a place to stop and rest, a place she could finally call a home.
In this empty state, Rhiannon found herself in a small cafe in Maine. There she overheard locals talking about a village no one ever visited, down a road no one ever traveled, where people lived who weren't really people. In an almost final, desperate attempt, Rhi decided to go down that road, hoping somehow she could begin her third and final life.

This was for an NCIS RPG. My character was Ziva David, a Mossad assassin, and the character opposite of her is a little boy they found in a house where his mother and sister had been murdered by his stepfather. My lines are in bold.
Taking one hand, she gently started to wipe away the blood and grime. Looking up, she answered him. "No, they never do. I promise you that."
Looking up at Tony, she could feel the anger radiating from him. Raising her eyebrows at him, she tried to let him know he was scaring the boy. "No, Tony isn't mad. And he is not mad at you."
As she cleaned, she felt something slip around her neck. Seeking inspiration, she started cleaning Markie's second hand. "Markie, do you want to know a secret about me? But before I can tell you, I need to clean your face. May I?"
"I like Policeman Tony. I'm gonna stay with him forever," Markie whispered, giving her his own secret.
When she asked if he wanted to know her secret, he nodded.
"You are, Markie? Well that sounds like a great idea. He's a fun guy to be with. He loves movies and pizza. I like Policeman Tony too." She started to wipe away the dirt from his face. But as she did so, she realized that not all of the darkness on his face was dirt.
Taking a deep breath, she asked "Do you see the star on my necklace, Markie?"
He nodded. "That is pretty. Did your Mommy get you that? Or Policeman Tony? Stars are real special. They shine when it is dark out."
"Yes, they do. This is called the Star of David. Its from my home country." Drying her hands off on her pants, she reached behind her head to unclasp her necklace. Bringing it forward, she laid it on her hand. "Do you know that when sailors are on their ships in the sea they use the stars to find their way home? That way they always feel safe because they know where they are, and they know where home is."
Leaning over, she slipped the necklace over the little boy's head. "I'm going to let you have this, Markie. So that you know you're not alone. Tony's going to be with you. He can be your star, ok? You're going to be safe now, little man. This star is my promise to you."
He touched the necklace, sniffling again. "I love you, Policeman Ziva." He gave her a big hug and snuggled on. "You can be my star too. And when I'm big, like nine or ten, and I have a job, I'll buy you a star too. Two stars."
"If you could be my mommy, Policeman Tony could be my daddy and Policeman Gibbs could be grandpa."
When the boy climbed up into her lap and told her he loved her, Ziva was shocked. She looked to Gibbs and Tony for guidance, but didn't know what to say.
"Well, I'm very honored to have you think of me like that, Markie. But I don't want you to forget your Mom. She loved you and your sister very much. How about you think of me as your Aunt? Would that be ok with you?"
