"Forever," she repeated quietly. "You condemned me to live forever, when all I wanted was to die." This time her voice was a normal tone and strangely steady. "And now I'm stuck to live with myself for the rest of eternity. Thanks." She finished sharply.

Well maybe you shouldn't have been so pretty and then I could have just killed you then, Tristan thought bitterly. He shook his head back and forth after a moment, clearing his thoughts. Finally, he said, "I know this is going to take a lot of getting used to, things are going to be very different from now on. But... if you like, I can help you."

"Why would I want help from you?" she grumbled. Fiona stopped and thought for a moment. She really didn't have anyone else to go to. A frustrated sigh found its way out of her. "Fine."

Tristan looked up at her, smiling sort of. "Well for starters, if I'm going to be... helping you, I might want to know who it is I'm helping. What is your name?" he asked her.

"Fiona," she said as she plopped down on his couch. She rested her head in her hands and sighed frustratedly. Her emotions were going haywire at the moment, wanting so badly to just cry. But it seemed to be coming out as anger instead. Fiona felt the need to go jump off that bridge again, as many times as it might take to kill the immortal. She also felt the need to kick this Tristan character a few times, but she restrained herself.

"Fiona," Tristan repeated. It was a beautiful name. It fit her very well.
He wasn't sure where to start, and so figured he might ask her. "What do you know about vampires?" he asked. "Or what do you want to know?"

Fiona looked up at him with a raised eyebrow. She had tons of questions but she was too concerned with why he even changed her in the first place. It was almost selfish in a way, which also made her angry. "Well, where can I live? I'm not going back to my father's house." Fiona shivered as she said the last part.

"It would be best if you didn't anyway. You'd just be likely to kill him, or any one else for that matter," he said. He shifted unnecessarily in his seat. "You can live where ever you like. I enjoy living here because there are... others... like us, or with strange or unique powers here. But you are free to roam or settly anywhere."

The words "kill" and "father" in the same sentence ignited her anger again. "I want to kill him" Fiona said with sudden realization. A growl seemed to escape from her body, which frightened her at first. All she could think about was the hatred for her father growing. Anything else Tristan had said seemed to have gotten lost.

Tristan's head turned sharply towards Fiona. He wasn't sure if this was some part of her new vampireness that was causing her to have these thoughts or if had to do with her previous life, with why she had tried to kill herself. "You do?" he aske cautionsly. "Why? I-If you don't mind me asking..."

"He is the foulest creature that walks this earth." Fiona hissed. She wanted to add 'besides you' to the end of that, but she decided not to. "He is not a good person. He deserves to die," she threw herself out of the chair as if on a mission.Besides, that burning in her throat would not go away and the prospect of killing someone meant there would be blood, and that oddly soothed her.

Tristan jumped up from his chair and bolted forward, stopping in front of her, blocking her way out. "Fiona. Wait," he said as he rased his hands in a calming gesture. "You can't just run off and kill your father."

"Yes, I can." Fiona growled at him. "He'd do the same to me." She tried to shove past him. Of all the years her father had abused her, to cause her all of this physical and emotion pain, death was what he deserved.

Fiona was strong, as all vampires were, but so was Tristan. He grabbed her shoulders, holding her fimrly in place. "Tell me why you want to kill him first. Tel me what happened," he said.

"Why should I tell you?" Fiona asked with a raised voice. She jerked herself away from him and pushed him back from her, surprised at her strength. Her body shook with anger and her breathing was ragged.
